The Smithsonian Castle

The Smithsonian Castle was the very first Smithsonian building on the National Mall in Washington D.C. It is the building to use as your compass to keep from getting lost on the mall since with its red exterior and nine towers it is very unique. This building was built and completed before the Cival War began thanks to the generosity of James Smithson, an English scientist. James Smithson loved America even though he never visited here.

  2. I loved hearing about the Folklife Fesstival. I have read about it in the magazine, but never thought about going.
I've also been meaning to tell you how much your comments on my blog have meant to me. Sometimes it is difficult to stay focused, or to choose from the many things to think about. I've loved your birding reports, too, especially the chickdee nest and the link to the hummingbird map. In blogging friendship, June

I will blog on Tim McGraw probably on Friday late or Sunday night. It was anothe fun concert. He didn't have to pull anyone out of the audience.
