Well I don't even buy white shoes anymore, too hard to keep clean.
And I do wear my white slacks till about Halloween. I'm like Melissa, I think people wear anything they want to how adays. Personally, I'm just glad they wear something to cover themselves. LOL
Yep, my Momma did! You know, I don't think hardly anyone follows this rule anymore, at least it doesn't seem that way at work!

Joann: Only a woman would worry about this. My tennis shoes are white and I wear them untill it snows.
