My World Tuesday = Four Hummingbirds In Our Yard
We have counted at least four hummingbirds flying around our backyard at the same time. You think hummingbirds are sweet and innocent. Well these four guys (gals?) are fighters. They chase each other away from the feeder. Why they do this Jack and I can't figure out. Especially since we have five feeders in our yard. Why can't they share and play nice? Tomorrow I'll post some videos I took of their fights.
Now please go visit other My World Tuesday memes and find out what's happening around our world.

Joann: I have seen that territorial action often among Hummers.
ReplyDeleteThey are some hungry birds who know where the living is fine! These are just great. Thanks for sharing the small and the mighty.
ReplyDeleteThat's just the way it is with humming birds. The rufous is the most ferocious of all. Ours have at last come back since the sun has come out as per normal after weeks and weeks of cloudy gloomy weather. I usually keep a close eye on the hummers if I'm near their feeder.
ReplyDeletethese hummingbirds love your bird-feeders.:p wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. On our continent there are no hummingbirds, just a little honeyeater that sometimes hovers.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of these delightful little birds. Thanks Joann.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have 4 hummingbirds. We have one...maybe two. I LOVE to see them come to the feeder of to my gardens. :)
