Dinner In Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Juban's French Creole Restaurant
The very best meal that we had on this roadtrip was at this French restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Here's the front courtyard of the restaurant. I liked the gaslights.Another view of a small garden in front of the restaurant.
Again another view of the front of the restaurant.
The beautiful main dining room at Juban's reminded me of some French restaurants in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Notice the high tin ceiling, the gold mirror and the white table cloths over French oilcloth. They brought us sweet potatoe chips to nibble on while we awaited our creole meal.On each table was a small card asking you to please refrain from cell phone use. I wish more places did this. Nothing like a person at a neighboring dining table yelling into a cellphone to ruin the ambiance of your dining experience.
This delicious creole gumbo was concocted of roast duck, shrimp and chicken. It was very very tasty! We were then full but somehow managed to eat a shared Grand Marnier bread pudding and a shared fruit flan. Needless to say we left stuffed to the gills!
