Barney's Chauffeur Got New Wheels

Barney's Chauffeur Got New Wheels
Barney is now riding in style and is the envy of the other labs at the dog park.
Jeanine drove out sans Barney to show us her new Hyundai Sonata in deep blue. The coast guard guys in the van pool to Buzzards Point in D.C. say they now need to give her a new nickname. They used to call her Bumble because she drove a yellow 2003 Mazda. Maybe now they will call her Blue Velvet though Jeanine says don't stop calling me Bumble. I like Bumble. (Short for Bumble Bee.)
Here's Jeanine doing a Vanna White pose by the car.
After three flat tires with the Mazda this spring Jeanine knew it was time to trade it in to get a safe car for all the coast guard trips she is making this spring to off site locations like Baltimore, MD; Chapel Hill, NC; and Charlottesvile, VA.
She likes how it drives and how it looks.
She let her father take it out for a spin and he liked how it drove too.

Let's Play Ball!

Let's Play Ball!
No, this is not basketball.
This is Barney ball.
Use the orange stick to throw the tennis ball
and let Barney retrieve it and drop it at your feet.
That's what Jeanine and her father are doing in this photo.
Time outs are called for water breaks for Barney.
Drink up Barney.
Now hit the court (lawn) once more for more action.

Bow Wow!

Bow Wow!

There is a winery close to our home that is called Barrel Oak Winery or BOW for short. The owners have dogs at the winery and every guest to this winery can bring their dog on a leash. Well, Jeanine showed up on our doorstep with Barney in tow the other week so Jack decided that we should take Jeanine and Barney to Barrel Oak Winery for some wine sipping in the fall sunshine.

Jack settled down on the picnic table bench.

Barney, the black lab, settled down under the picnic table and sampled the pebbles on the ground. LOL!

This day the winery was the busiest that we have ever seen it.There must have been around 75 different groups of people enjoying the winery's facilities. And there had to be at least 50 dogs enjoying the winery facilities too. This place sure knows how to treat a dog. Water bowls are provided at several locations and there's plenty of space in back for doggy potty breaks.
All the dogs sure come dressed for fun.
They are ready for ball and frisbee tossing.
Bow wow! Bow wow!
And all the humans are busy checking out the various breeds of dogs.

Barney and Jeanine on Sunday

Barney and Jeanine on Sunday

Give that girl a hand.
She can drink coffee, handle Barney and carry on a conversation with Mom and Dad.
All at the same time.
You try that.
I know I couldn't do it.

My World Tuesday = Barney's Jack-O-Lantern

My World Tuesday = Barney's Jack-O-Lantern
Barney is our daughter's 8 month old black Labrador retriever.
Barney and Jeanine paid us a visit on Sunday.
I gave Barney a stuffed jack-o-lantern.
Here is the pumpkin waiting for Barney to notice it.

Barney looked.

Barney sniffed.

Barney chewed and tossed.

A dog has got to do what a dog has to do.
Explore and investigate.
That's it.

The Life of the Party

The Life of the Party
Was It Barney the Black Lab?
The Life of the Party
Was It Our Darling Grandson Jack Aidan Shown Below Opening A Party Favor?

The Life of the Party
Was It Our Soon-to-be Son-in-Law Bryan With the Bubble Machine?

Wow, Look at the Bubbles Jack Aidan!

Wow, Watch the Bubbles Disappear in Your Hands!
This makes Grandma think of this famous line:

"Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble."
From Shakespeare's Macbeth

Little Jack Meets Little Barney

Little Jack got to go meet Little Barney the other week. Little Jack was excited, thrilled and a bit scared of this wiggly black four legged puppy.
I think Little Barney was a bit scared of that excited jumping for joy two legged boy named Jack Aidan.

After this meeting I think Barney was wiped out and ready for his afternoon nap. Grow Barney grow so you can keep up with Little Jack.
