Here is my brother Carl's son, Kenny, RHS Class of 1978 with his Aunt Joann (Aunt Annie and Yours Truly), RHS Class of 1962.
Kenny gave us an update on the family happenings and the fall grain harvest in Russia, Ohio.
Kenny introduced Jack and I to some of the other parent chaperones on this eighth grade field trip to Gettysburg Battlefield in PA and Washington D. C. and Virginia. We learned that they left Russia, Ohio at 10:15 P.M. on Tuesday and proceeded by interstate to D.C. via Gettysburg. Yesterday they had a scheduled special tour of the White House and attended a short concert at the Kennedy Center Theater followed by a twilight tour of the Lincoln Monument and the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials.
These patriotic buckeyes found some patriotic signs at a local Golden Corral Restaurant as well as some good big farm breakfast foods. We all ate heartily and chatted non stop.
And for Kenny's sister, Debbie, we had to pose for some family shots.
Austin, RHS Class of 2013, Kenny, RHS Class of 1978, Joann, RHS Class of 1962, my hubby Jack and Olivia, RHS Class of 2013. Austin is the son of Kenny and the grandson of my brother, Carl . Olivia Monnin is the daughter of Darlene and the granddaughter of my brother, Paul.
Is their a family resemblance in each of us? I think so. But the new generation seems to be growing taller than Yours Truly. One thing for sure the Russia Raiders will have good weather for navigating all the places they will see in the metro area before they head west on the highway late Saturday night for the all night bus ride back to Russia, Ohio.

Looks like a wonderful chance for a family reunion! Love the pictures and yes you do bear a family resemblance there!
Joann: What a neat time to get together with family and I'm sure it was a fun time. Olivia is holding up pretty well for that RHS gradutating class of 1013. She must have some pretty good witchcraft going for her. LOL
Oh, I'm just kidding. She is a pretty young lady.
FG, my typo is now corrected. This is what happens when you go to bed too late and get up way too early. I think even the eighth graders will be snoring on the return trip to Ohio after packing so much into one trip to D.C.
What a great family reunion. I loved seeing all the pictures.
I'm the shortest one in our family, all my children, and the grandchildren over 11 are taller than me!! Are they eating spinach when we arent't looking???
:) Wanda
Definitely worth getting up and out early for! What fun!!
